Born in Cambridge Bay and raised in Tuktoyuktuk. Eric, who signs his work with his Inuit name- Amiruq, began carving when he was twenty. Basically self taught, he also worked alongside village elders. Eric mainly sculpts with soapstone, but has also worked with Antler and Lava rock (Featherstone). He now resides in BC’s Thompson Okanagan region.
