Alvin Eugene was born in Kingston, Ontario in 1961. He started carving at the age of 8 years old with wood and eventually advanced his skills and techniques to antler, stone, and other materials.
At the age of 19 he began silver-smithing and eventually expanded his craft to include copper and gold. He worked for many years as a silver- and goldsmith creating both traditional and custom jewelry for galleries and private collectors. His work includes pendants, rings, and bracelets.
Besides creating jewelry Alvin has continued as a wood carver and is well-known for his work with non-traditional woods such as mahogany, cherry, and alder. His designs are a mix of both traditional and contemporary. His works have been sold to collectors throughout North America, Europe, and Australia.
